Rita Louise is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in art studio, with a concentration in photography at the University of New Mexico. Drawing is her first passion, with a love of portraiture. Rita has always had an eye for style, art, and beauty. Rita spent time as a freelance makeup artist and fell in love with the process of transformation. This passion for beauty and portrait led her to photography, where she combines her passions into a unified visual medium. Before attending university, she taught herself the basics of composition and camera operations. Rita has always been drawn to the glamour of editorial fashion but longed to see more diverse representation. She is an enrolled member of the Ihanktonwan Nation Yankton Sioux Tribe and she is African American. Rita aims to expand on conventional standards of beauty to include more diversity in culture and body types in fashion and media.
